Over at Speak Up Armin posed the following, i’m summarizing because you can get lost in all of the comments over there, and I wanted to solidify my point as a complete idea:
Milton Glaser’s Dylan poster. Paul Rand’s IBM logo. Paula Scher’s Public Theater posters. Massimo Vignelli’s New York subway map. Kyle Cooper’s Seven opening [...]

Design:Related or Behance
November 1st, 2007 · 1 Comment
I recently joined two new social networks, both related to design. I have been a member for a little bit now, however, until now I haven’t posted any projects. I am going to do a little comparison. I am posting the same work on both sites, and I will then track my progress [...]

NYC Taxi or Why I’m Tired of Wolff Olins*
October 17th, 2007 · No Comments
A few weeks ago I was in a cab with j and finally wanted to know what the deal was with the redesign of the NYC Taxi logo. I insanely asked my cab driver expecting him to go into a design brief about the subject; to no avail. After seeing it for some time, looking [...]

São Paulo Street Art
October 10th, 2007 · 1 Comment
Since the ban on outdoor billboards within the city limits of Sao Paulo back in January, there has been a sad desolate feeling within the absence of the empty frames of the once vibrant ads. It seemed it would be only a matter of time until street art would peek its head out into [...]

October 1st, 2007 · No Comments
Well, the weekend came and went, and I did not actually don a mustache and stalk Tobias Frere-Jones’ walking tour. Somehow tickets went from not for sale to sold out real quick. However, who needs to go when you have flickr. Here are a few photo sets. More to come as I find [...]

Sean Combs and the Evolution of the Remix (*update)
September 24th, 2007 · No Comments
I know, I know, why start at Sean Combs, ever since the dawn of hip hop, break beats have been used to remix music by popular artists. It is in fact what all DJ’s did in the early days; mix other people’s music together to get a new sound. But, in my lifetime, [...]

Movie Pillows
September 19th, 2007 · 1 Comment
So, my first brazilian post! Here are some really cool pillows from brazil. Leave it to a brazilian company to understand the wonders of early american cinema. They make t-shirts too. Now I gotta figure out how to buy one.
*By the way note that the translation of Laurel and Hardy in Portuguese, (O Gordo [...]

Observations on Helvetica (The Movie)
September 14th, 2007 · 1 Comment
So I just got back from seeing Helvetica at IFC, and I really enjoyed it, with sharp observations by Michael Bierut, the intensity of Erik Spiekermann, and a humorous, and not drunk David Carson just to name a few.
Here are my personal highlights.
-Massimo Vignelli’s studio.
-Lars Müller pointing at Helvetica signs in what looks like a [...]
